C. Strobbe: "Accessibility of Online Scientific Resources"

Scientific articles and books present different accessibility issues from publications in the humanities. Scientific texts usually contain formulas, figures and tables, and the accessibility issues of these types of content come on top of issues that are present in other types of text (organization in chapters and sections with headings, organization of blocks of text with paragraphs, readability of language, accessibility features of different document formats).
This paper examines the document formats used by a number of scientific publishers and discusses accessibility issues that can be encountered in their publications.
